Enterprise Ethereum Alliance Expands Presence in Asia; Appoints Blockchain Expert Kazuaki Ishiguro to Lead Japanese Office

NEW YORK, N.Y., USA, and TOKYO, JAPAN – July 19, 2018 –Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA) announced today the opening of its first regional office in Japan and the appointment of Kazuaki Ishiguro, Couger Inc.’s lead blockchain engineer, as the EEA’s Regional Head. The new office and its leadership will provide local support such that Japan EEA members are well positioned to leverage the EEA’s standards, working groups, and resources to achieve business results.

“As part of our efforts to accelerate the global adoption of Enterprise Ethereum standards and associated certification programs, the EEA intends to open regional offices in multiple geographies. Today, we’re announcing the opening of our first regional office with the appointment of Kazuaki Ishiguro as the regional head,” said EEA Executive Director Ron Resnick. “He is a blockchain expert and the right leader to help grow our blockchain initiatives in Japan and address the needs of EEA’s growing member base.”

As the Regional Head of the EEA’s Japan office, Ishiguro will be the point of contact and evangelist for the region. He will be responsible for ensuring that the EEA Enterprise Ethereum Client Specification, website, and other EEA member resources are available in Japanese. Also, he will provide support for the advancement and adoption of EEA’s standards by taking part in local hackathons, workshops, training sessions, and conferences. A frequent speaker at enterprise blockchain conferences, Ishiguro is the lead blockchain engineer at technology company Couger, an EEA member, where he is developing the company’s next-generation, blockchain-enabled, automation technology.

EEA in Tokyo: Ethereum Hackathon for Japan’s Inbound Tourism

At the upcoming EEA-sponsored Ethereum Hackathon for Japan’s Inbound Tourism event in Tokyo, Jul. 20-22, 2018, EEA Regional Head Kazuaki Ishiguro will be on hand to welcome EEA members and to discuss market opportunities. This three-day, free hackathon is dedicated to generating prototypes for Ethereum-based blockchain tourism services and teams will compete to win $5,000 ether prize for the best Ethereum blockchain-based tourism service. Individuals from EEA member and non-member companies are invited to register to attend and participate in this important event.
