The member-led nonprofit connecting institutions with the people shaping Ethereum.
EEA connects institutions with Ethereum intelligence, builders, peers and open standards so teams can understand what is changing, work through implementation decisions and help shape what comes next.
The Enterprise Ethereum Alliance is a member-led nonprofit industry organization focused on enterprise and institutional Ethereum. It was founded in New York in 2017 by enterprises, financial institutions and Ethereum leaders who needed a neutral place to work on the same problems.
EEA gives institutions a structured environment to understand Ethereum, contribute requirements and work directly with the people building it, without any single company, protocol or vendor setting the agenda.

A bridge between an open ecosystem and institutional execution.
That mandate runs on three tracks: intelligence that makes protocol, policy and market change legible, open standards developed by members under EEA governance, and collaboration between institutional teams and practitioners.
Advancing Enterprise Ethereum since 2017.
When the EEA launched, enterprises were working through fundamental questions around privacy, interoperability, security and standards.
Today, institutions are navigating tokenization, settlement, regulation, infrastructure, privacy and a rapidly changing Ethereum roadmap.
EEA launches in New York
Enterprises, financial institutions and Ethereum leaders form an alliance to advance enterprise use of Ethereum through shared standards and collaboration.
Enterprise standards take shape
EEA publishes and evolves specifications spanning enterprise Ethereum clients, security and interoperability.
From standards to implementation
The work expands across institutional guidance, DeFi risk, privacy, interoperability, research and real-world enterprise adoption.
The next phase of Enterprise Ethereum
Working groups, institutional forums and Ethereum Intelligence give organizations practical ways to understand, implement and help shape what comes next.
Member-led, and governed that way.
The alliance is governed by organizations spanning enterprise, finance and the Ethereum ecosystem. Members set the agenda through the Board and through the working groups they staff.
EEA is a U.S. nonprofit. Its collaboration happens inside a defined antitrust and IPR framework, which is what makes it possible for competitors to work on shared problems together.
Current board members.
The Board is chaired by Yorke E. Rhodes III of Microsoft and draws from enterprise, financial services and the Ethereum ecosystem.

Competitors can work together, inside defined rules.
EEA working groups, member forums and events operate under the alliance’s antitrust and IPR framework. That framework is what allows organizations that compete in the market to develop shared technical requirements without creating competitive or legal exposure.
Participation in EEA groups is governed by the alliance’s antitrust policy and its IPR framework. Contributions to EEA specifications are made under those terms, which is what keeps the resulting work open and usable by the wider market.
EEA work connects to the formal standards system.
Specifications developed by EEA members are published openly, and the alliance carries a formal liaison relationship into international standards work.
EEA Inc. is a Category A liaison to ISO/TC 307, Blockchain and distributed ledger technologies.
