Title: Marketing Director, EEA/Token Taxonomy Initiative
Reports To: Executive Director
Employment Status: Contract for 3 months – 6 months,  then employee


The Marketing Director is responsible for driving and developing marketing strategy and all marketing plans for  Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA) and the Token Taxonomy Initiative. Working in conjunction with the marketing team as assigned by Virtual Inc. to the EEA and Token Taxonomy Initiative and member stakeholders, the Marketing Director will lead EE/TTI marketing efforts to support EEA’s/TTI technology roadmap.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES other duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • In conjunction with the Virtual marketing team and client stakeholders, lead, develop and implement a world class marketing strategy and plan
  • Ensure the execution of timely marketing initiatives to retain current EEA/TTI members and motivate prospective members to join either EEA or TTI
  • Create marketing plan to support EEA’s technology roadmap and associated programs to include a testnet and certification testing
  • Manage the implementation of education programs offered through EEA and TTI
  • Become blockchain subject matter expert
  • Identify, understand and communicate latest trends and technology in blockchain ecosystem
  • Crystalize the value proposition, features and benefits of EEA and TTI membership
  • Take ownership of the EEA’s and TTI’s offerings and value proposition and work with the marketing team and other EEA services to best position it to different constituents
  • Analyze market data, acquire market research, share with client stakeholders, and develop blockchain market presentations to share with members, analysts, industry events, etc.
  • Translate blockchain technical information into understandable marketing messaging
  • Deliver marketing reports, analytics, and KPIs
  • Build database of blockchain use cases and POCs
  • Perform regular outreach to industry leaders and stakeholders to extend knowledge base
  • Speak knowledgeably, representing client, at blockchain-focused events
  • Understand the competitive landscape
  • Provide marketing support and guidance to industry-focused working groups
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with client stakeholders
  • Work closely with PR, EEA evangelist, and technical leaders


  • Technical, finance, marketing undergraduate degree with demonstrated background to understand blockchain technology
  • Three to five years of experience in marketing field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with focused attention to detail
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office – PowerPoint, Excel, Word
  • Strong technical skills and background, blockchain experience preferred
  • Excellent cross-department communication, analysis, and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment balancing multiple projects at once
  • Motivated self-starter who takes ownership and can work autonomously
  • Solid program management skills
  • Analytical tendencies with a natural curiosity to measure, test, learn and iterate in order to get the best results possible
  • Experience communicating with industry research firms, such as Gartner, Forrester, and IDC
  • Willingness to travel on a limited basis — 10% to 15%
